Gas prices in Victoria B.C. Canada · Tuesday January 2, 2007 by colin newell
1.06.9 One dollar and 6 point 9 cents
Brilliant.
Highest price in Canada.
I read a quote read somewhere locally:
“When there is an abundance of supply chasing too few dollars, the price at the pump must go up…”
Now in Victoria, the other rule applies too:
“When there is a shortage of supply chasing too few dollars, the price at the pump must go up…”
So. You see our problem.
In Caracas, Venezuela (My colleague Al was there for 10 days…), the price at the state owned pumps (sourced from state owned refineries… kind of like Petro-Can) was 11 cents…
a gallon.
11 cents a gallon. And the Venezuelan State owned oil companies have been reporting a profit for years.
So. At the gas pumps in Victoria, B.C. Canada, we do not get gassed. We get fcuked.
Plain and simple.
Chug a lug.

Major blog re-design -coming- here...

Gas prices have now fallen to 95.5…
probably as a result of this hard-hitting blog entry.

With all the talk and changes made in regards to outrageously priced automobiles in Canada compared to the US while our dollar is and has been equivalent for quite sometime now has anyone noticed that we also pay a substantially higher price at the pump as well? How does this work?? I am a Canadian working in th US occasionally and prices where I am now are $2.80/gallon. That is only about 0.70cents a liter!! How much tax is the government charging us??

Every gas station in Victoria, regardless of their inventory, hiked their price to almost $1.22 yesterday – connivance? Naw… couldn’t be!

People across North America will be asking their elected representatives, and candidates for office. Who will introduce a bill to remove oil from commodity trading to stop the investor speculation that has rased the prices so high?

Thanks Tyler — deleted your transcript stuff — a link would have sufficed.
I would prefer your opinions in your own words, thanks!
