Lukas Rossi wins RockStar Supernova · Wednesday September 13, 2006 by colin newell
A Canadian wins Rockstar MSN again!
Canadian rocker Lukas Rossi pulled out all the stops to edge out Dilana, Toby and the Icelandic guy (Magni) for the title:
Lead singer Rockstar SuperNova
Not much of a TV watcher (being more devoted to a variety of Radio media), I have been hooked to this for the last 2 seasons.
For some reason, this seasons preliminaries did not interest me much. Truth is, the likes of Tommy Lee and his tatooed cohorts from Motley Crue, Metallica and MC5 hold little interest.
Yet. It grew on me. I have seen the last 4 weeks or so.
It has been fun.
And another Canadian won.
Yea.

Quiet day in coffee.bc.ca land... · Sunday September 10, 2006 by colin newell
My eldest Uncle died last night.
Our thoughts go out to his widow Monica and their family…
My Mom… and my remaining Uncle.
Tomorrow is the 5th anniversary of 9/11/01
I have been feeling (as well as many friends and loved ones), kind of creeped out by all the wierd and wacky stuff that has been going on in the World the last few monthes.
Call me crazy, but I get the wierd feeling something really bad is going to happen tomorrow.
Like I said.
Call me crazy.

billions and billions served... · Friday September 8, 2006 by colin newell
Ok, so I was there today.
By myself.
Not a common event.
I have not had a McDonalds burger in over 25 years.
I had one Bic Mac in 1975… before most of you good people were born.
Still, I enjoy their breakfast from time to time.
Now. About the picture.

Take the Aeropress Challenge · Wednesday September 6, 2006 by colin newell
Alan Adler, engineer and designer (and owner) of Aerobie Industries – maker of the Aeropress Coffee maker is sending me a crate of 8 Aeropress coffee makers for give-away / assignment to Beta testers.
Are you a potential Aeropress beta-tester?
Have you got the right stuff to try out this interesting product?
I use the Aeropress. Every weekend.
I enjoy it so much that I packed up the Rancilio Silvia and loaned it out long term to CoffeeCrew writer Adam Tindale.
Is the Aeropress better than espresso?
I did not say that.
It is easier than fussing with espresso.
Bottom line for me, folks, is getting that caffeine into my system in the most expedient and practical way possible.
Still, I do enjoy the Aeropress. We are doing more weekend getaways from Victoria than ever before.
And the Aeropress travels well.
Would you enjoy an Aeropress?
E-Mail me and I will ship you one…
if and only if I get the sense that you are an Aeropress kind of person.
Update – I am long out of Aeropress units. Thanks for your interest everyone!
